2 Hours of Continuing EducatiIn July of 1992, the federal government passed the Bloodborne Pathogen Law 29 CFR 1910-
1030. All employees are now federally mandated by OSHA, (Occupational Safety and Health
Administration) to have annual training to identify the risk associated with their work
environment. This OSHA program will provide a general discussion on bloodborne diseases and
their transmission, exposure control requirements, engineering, also work practice controls,
universal precautions and emergency response methods when occupational exposure to blood or
other potentially infectious materials occurs.
